Sick days

So unfortunately I have had a nasty cold since last Thursday. I felt it coming all last week and it hit with a vengeance on Thursday. I had already volunteered to babysit two kidlets on Saturday and Sunday, so it's just my luck to get sick right before. Brandon had a bowling tournament all weekend and I looked after two of our friends kids. Saturday I took them to the indoor water park and Sunday we were lazy and spent the day watching movies (thank goodness). Kids are so exhausting especially when you're sick and that folks is why I'm not ready to add kids to the mix anytime soon (sorry mom!).

I'm also home from work today because of this sickness. I'm stuffed up, running nose, sore throat, major cough and no energy. At first I was super annoyed because I like being productive and I have goals and plans to work towards. But obviously my body needs some rest and relaxation, so I must oblige. I have watched endless hours of tv, drank copious amounts of tea&honey, and had so many sweet kitty cuddles. I'm hoping this is a winning combination and that I start to feel better asap!

Here's to a healthier week ahead! :)

2015.

Free Fierce Printable Quote - Dwell Beautiful

Whoa, somehow it is January 16th and we are halfway through the month already. I told meant to write a "resolutions" post 2 weeks ago but then life got in the way. Anyways, my sister has been bugging me to get back into blogging... so here I am! I hope to make it a more common occurrence.

My hopes for 2015:

  • do Yoga or Pilates at least once a week- I'm pretty good about doing cardio & strength training but when it comes to stretching and taking time to relax my body I'm slacking. Plus, it will challenge my body in a whole new way!
  • make it a goal to workout 5+ days a week
  • continue walking 2-3 times per week & increase our intensity (maybe some running intervals Danielle?). My friend Danielle and I have been walking at the local walking track 2-3 times per week since November. It's great to socialize while being active!
  • read a minimum of 25 books this year. I have really gotten out of my reading groove in 2014 and I miss it!
  • Spend less time on social media and watching t.v. I don't watch a lot of t.v. but I'm bad for plunking my butt on the couch and browsing Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest for hours. What a waste of time!
  • get back into blogging & picture taking! I really do miss it. It was a way to document what was happening in my life and I love looking through old posts of mine. So time to get my butt in gear!
  • teach myself how to cross stitch again. Brandon's mom got me a cross stitch kit for me for Christmas but it turns out I forget how! Time to Google and YouTube it!
  • challenge myself to go one month without fast food or processed food. I generally eat pretty good however often times if I'm in a time crunch or if I've gone too long without eating, I will grab processed snacks or meals. No beuno!
  • try doing whole30 for a month. We'll see how that goes with Brandon around...
  • pay off my line of credit. I'm all set to make my first "big" payment! Can't wait to be debt free :)
  • see a doctor about my digestive issues. I am super bad for procrastinating (just ask Brandon ;)) and it's time to get down to the bottom of it so I feel better!
  • make a monthly budget and stick to it! It's time to get spending under control so that we can pay off our debt and focus on the future rather than spending money on random purchases.
Overall, I just want to strive to live a healthier, happier and more intentional life this year.
