Lately, there has been an extreme cold snap in Manitoba. With temperatures in the -30 to -50 range with a windchill, I have been lacking motivation. This morning I could barely drag my butt out of bed and I was grumbling about being back at work full time. I was lucky enough to essentially get 2 weeks off at Christmas from the Research Station and a whole month off from the University. I was spoiled and now I'm finding it hard to get out of bed and work most days. I must admit being in the work force isn't all that its cracked up to be but I have it pretty easy.
I work a government job with good hours (8-4), long breaks, great pay, sweet benefits, and awesome co-workers. My other job is pretty chill too and am lucky to have a great boss and I get to work with Natalie often. I know that one day I will look back on this phase of my life and miss it. Miss the chill atmosphere, the great people, and the benefit of leaving work at work after hours.
So instead of grumbling and moaning about work, I vow to enjoy it and make the most of it over the next several months. Hopefully (cross your fingers!), I will be back in school come August and I know I will be longing for the stress free, chill days I have now.
Life really is all about your attitude! Positivity is contagious, look for the good in every day, every month, every moment.
Kerri - I do read all your posts and I love them all...but I never comment! How bad is that! Anyways...this one hit home because it was just on Tuesday that I literally woke up determined to be positive that day, and what a difference it made! I do think that optimism shouldn't cloud what's real but let's make what is real, positive :)
